இவருக்கு இரண்டு கைகளும் இல்லை ஆனா படம் வரைவதில் பிச்சு உதருகிறார்!!!!!!!!

 
ஈரோடு மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த இளைஞர் திரு கே ஜனார்த்தனன் வயது 16 இவருக்கு எட்டு வயதிருக்கும்போது நண்பர்களுடன் மொட்டைமாடியில் விளையாடும்ப்போது எதிர்பாரதவிதமாக தன் கையிலிருந்த இரும்பு கம்பியால் மின்சார வயரை தொட்டுவிட்டார். அதனால் தன்னுடைய இரு கைகளையும் இழந்து விட்டார். ஆனாலும் இவருக்கு தன்னம்பிக்கையை இழக்கவில்லை. 

 

இவர் தன்னுடைய வாயை எழுத உபயோகப்படுத்த ஆரம்பித்தார்.  நாள்பட நாள்பட தன் வாயால் படங்களை வரையவும் தொடங்கினார். இன்று வாயால் படம் வரைவதில் மிகவும் கைதேர்ந்தவராக உள்ளார். இவர் நம் முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி அப்துல் கலாமிடமிருந்து பால் ஸ்ரி பட்டமும் வாங்கியுள்ளார்.

எத்தனையோ பேர் கைகள் இருந்தும் முடம் மாதிரி முடங்கிகிடக்க இவ‌ரோ அநேக‌  இளைஞ‌ர்க‌ளுக்கு முன்மாதிரியாக‌ திக‌ழ்கிறார். வாழ்த்துக்க‌ள் திரு கே ஜனார்த்தனன் அவ‌ர்க‌ளே.....

ERODE: K. Janarthanan, 16, draws and paints. He has won several awards, including the prestigious Bal Shree Award from former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The speciality of the paintings, majority of which are on animals, is that they are from his mouth and not hands. That is because the boy lost hands and left leg in an accident in 2000, when he was just eight.

The accident happened when Janarthanan, while playing with friends on terrace, came into contact with high-tension electric line over his house. An iron rod he held touched the wire, recollects his father P.S. Kesavan.

The March 4 incident changed the boy's life forever. He spent the next eight months at the Stanley Medical College Hospital, Chennai, where he came to know about mouth writing and painting.

"A fortnight after the accident and operation, I asked the doctor treating me how could I continue education without hands. It was he who suggested using mouth to write," recalls Janarthanan.

The very evening he asked his father for pencil and notebook. "When I entered his room during visiting hours, he asked me for pencil and notebook, and that shocked me. The next three hours, I wondered what he wanted to do," says Mr. Kesavan.

Later that night, the father gave what the son wanted. "With mother K. Bhuvanesweri beside me, I opened the note to write. I started with alphabets and the 26 letters took me 15 minutes."

From then on until he left the hospital the eight-year-old spent an hour a day practising writing. The alphabets were followed by pencil sketches of animals. "I took a month to get the hand-like writing," he says.

The turnaround came during his stay in the hospital when doctors, after learning about his skill, suggested that he participate in a painting competition conducted by Victoria Technical Institute, Chennai, for differently abled children.

Janarthanan participated to win the first prize. The event led to another and another.

Mr. Kesavan says his son has so far won 120 prizes and that include competitions where the boy competed against normal children.

Prizes from event after event led the boy to win the Best Creative Child Award 2004, which he received from former President Kalam in 2004. A few months later he won the Bal Shree Award from the former first citizen.

Janarthanan says he dreams of becoming a graphic designer and aims at animating movies.
